” be動詞 ＋ coming up soon”の使い方と例文

近づいてきた出来事やイベントなどを表現する「もうすぐ〜です」は【名詞＋be動詞＋coming up soon】を使います。

come upは出来事が近づくことを意味します。

また、”soon”の代わりに”in three days”（３日後に）や”this weekend”（今週末）などにすれば、具体的に何日後に迫っていることを表現することもできます。

My daughter’s graduation ceremony is coming up this weekend.　（今週末は娘の卒業式だ）

※因みに”coming soon”も出来事が近づくという意味で使われますがこの場合はいつその出来事が来るのか日にちが確定していない場合に使われます。

一方、” is coming up soon”は既にその出来事の日にちが決まっている場合に使われます。

” is just around the corner”の使い方と例文

直訳すると「すぐそこの角の辺りまで近づいている」と言う意味になり、”is coming up soon”と同じように記念日やイベントが近づいていることを表現するときに使います。

但し、” is coming up soon”の様に” in three days”（３日後に）や”this weekend”（今週末）などの時を表現するフレーズを用いることはできません。

また、”just”の代わりに”right”を使う場合もあります。
